Power Partners’ single-phase, oil-filled, pole-mounted distribution transformers are designed for servicing residential overhead distribution loads. They are also suitable for light commercial loads, industrial lighting and diversified power applications. These transformers are designed for the application conditions normally encountered on electric utility power distribution systems. Types CSP, CP, SP and S are all available. ISO 9001: 2008 Certified

Single Phase Types

Standard Features

  • Lifting lugs
  • Arrester mounting pads
  • High-voltage porcelain bushing(s) with eyebolt terminals
  • Low voltage bushing insulators are available in fiberglass reinforced polyester material or porcelain (both eyebolt and spade terminals)
  • Low-voltage neutral grounding strap (furnished on 10 – 50 kVA single HV bushing units)
  • ANSI support lugs (hanger brackets)
  • Cover has 15 kV dielectric insulation and increased resistance to corrosion. The cover is sloped 15°, preventing water from collecting and thereby reducing the chances of corrosion and leaking.
  • Self-venting and resealing cover that eliminates the need for an auxiliary pressure-relief device and offers increased safety through higher tank withstand
  • Wound core with step-lap joints for increased efficiency and lower noise levels.
  • Core/coil bolts in pads are 180° apart
  • Embossed low-voltage leads
  • Oil fill-plug
  • Cover ground-strap
  • Tank ground-pad
  • Laser-etched, anodized, aluminum nameplate with bar-coded serial number
  • Durable, corrosive-resistant paint finish

The following additional features are all standard on self-protected type CSP units (CSP protection package consists of four components that work together to provide complete, self-contained protection against surge currents, short circuits, and overloads):

  • Primary protective link
  • Surge arrester
  • Secondary circuit breaker
  • Secondary breaker operating handle with emergency overload reset
  • Overload signal light if desired

Accessory Options

Two types of high-voltage bushings, both made of wet process porcelain:

  1. Speed-wrench, operable eyebolt bushing for cover mounting
  2. Spin-top bushing for cover or side-wall mount

Stainless-steel tanks and/or covers

Primary termination options:

  1. Cover-mounted, high-voltage, porcelain bushing(s) with hand wheel operated terminal
  2. Side-wall mounted, high-voltage, porcelain bushing(s) with hand wheel operated terminal (standard on all 4800 V and below)

Secondary termination option:

  1. Low-voltage bushings with NEMA spade terminals (standard on all units 167 kVA and above)

Primary switching options:

  1. Externally operated tap changers that compensate for small voltage variations along the distribution system
  2. Externally operated dual-voltage switch that permits use of the same transformer on distribution systems with different system voltages

Overcurrent protection option:

  1. Internally mounted, current-limited fuse in series with protective link red
  • 5 – 1000 kVA
  • 65C temperature rise
