Power Partners to Buy Plant

Athens --- Power Partners Inc. agreed to buy an Athens transformer plant owned by ABB Ltd., Europe's largest electrical-engineering company, which is selling businesses in a bid to reduce $8.2 billion in debt. Financial details of the transaction weren't disclosed. Power Partners, whose main shareholders are Sherrie Ford and Steve Hollis, will retain the 500 employees at the Georgia factory, which had about $100 million in sales in 2002, it said.
