Our company began doing business as
Power Partners Inc. in 2003, yet we have nearly 50 years
of experience in quality manufacturing, and we have made
more than 7 million transformers.
Power Partners roots go back to 1958 when Westinghouse
built a distribution transformer plant in Athens, Georgia.
The Athens plant was purchased by Swiss conglomerate ABB
in 1990, and two Athens-based organizational consultants
and entrepreneurs, Sherrie Ford and Steve Hollis, purchased
the plant from ABB in 2003 and now lead the company. Ford and
Hollis are experts in lean manufacturing and in developing
work cultures that are team-based, adaptable to change,
and focused on continuous improvement.
Over the years, our employees have earned a reputation
for producing high quality distribution transformers,
and their rapid response to customers needs, especially
in times of severe weather, is legendary. Click
here to read just a few of the letters of appreciation
we have received from our many satisfied customers.
Power Partners products
include single-phase and three-phase pole-type transformers
at 34.5 kV and below, in ratings from 5 1000 kVA
single-phase and 30- 500 kVA three-phase. The Power Partners
operation has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification.
The poletype distribution transformers manufactured by
Power Partners are name-plated for ABB, with ABB serving
as the manufacturer's representative for Power Partners.
ABB is a global leader in power and automation technologies.
